This casemate is constructed in the '30s as part of the Secteur Fortifié de Montmédy and was captured by the 2. Kompanie (Schützen-Regiment 86) under command of Leutnant Heinrich Hanbauer. As commander of this unit, Hanbauer was awarded the Ritterkreuz for this action.
