Memorial Killed Tank Crew Stonne

This memorial is just outside the boundary of Stonne. It is a monument in the shape of a tank. It commemorates the killed crew of a tank.

Ici fut detruit le char "Chinon" avec tout son equipage:
Yves ROHOU,
André DUCASSE
Roger MAUGER
Maxime QUEVY
Henri VANDERBECQ
au cours des combats acharnés que livrèrent a Stonne
les 15, 16, 17, 18 mai 1940
les 41e, 45e, 49e bataillons de chars de combats.

Here was the tank "Chinon" destroyed with the entire crew:

Maxime QUEVY
Henri VANDERBECQ
During the fierce battles that were delivered in Stonne
on 15, 16, 17, 18 May 1940
by the 41st, 45th, 49th (combat) tank battalions.
