Information Centre Canadian Cemetery Holten

The Canadian Cemetery in Holten is a place for reflection. Here our fallen liberators from the Second World War are commemorated. Behind each of the 1,394 tombs is an impressive story. During your visit to the adjacent information center, you will gain more insight into the history of the Field of Honor, the liberation of the North and East of the Netherlands and you will learn more about the lives of the fallen soldiers. Based on personal stories, anecdotes and photos, often obtained from next of kin, the memory of those who fell is kept alive.

The center is free for everyone and provides a source of information. This information gives a visit to the cemetery more depth. By means of a unique film, with the help of many authentic images, the visitor is told the history and the specific features of the field of honor in about 20 minutes, and you are introduced to a number of poignant stories about fallen liberators. You can study the advance of the Canadian troops on the introduction wall.

There are regular guided tours of the information center and the Canadian Cemetery, for which you can register individually. Since its opening in September 2011, the Information Center has already had more than 120,000 visitors.

For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
