T-34/85 Tank Pechenga

In 1944, this T-34/85 tank tried to cross the Pechenga river but the bridge that the tank was driving over was blown up by the Germans and the tank fell in the water. The driver was killed in this incident, but the other crew members were saved by Soviet infantry men. Twenty years later, the tank was salvaged and repaired and is now standing at the war memorial in the village of Pechenga.
