Jean Moulin Memorial Caluire-et-Cuire

Jean Moulin was one of the highest profile members of the French resistance. On June 21, 1943, Moulin was arrested at a meeting with fellow Resistance leaders in the home of Doctor Frédéric Dugoujon in Caluire-et-Cuire, a suburb of Lyon. Moulin posed as a patient in the waiting room, with written referrals for his "appointment", but all present were arrested during the Gestapo raid. During interrogation by Klaus Barbie, Moulin remained silent.
A plaque outside the building commemorates Moulin’s arrest, along with a sculpture of him. A memorial inside the doctor’s home can be visited (check with Tourist Information for visiting times, which are limited)
