German Kitchen Bunker (Wirtschaftsbunker) Slotbos Haamstede
Slightly hidden but visible from Moolweg, about 100 metres from the crossing with Nieuweweg, lies a former Germen kitchen bunker (Wirtschaftsbunker). The purpose of the building was the storage and preparation of food for the German troops in Slotbos Haamstede.
During the war, Schouwen-Duiveland was defended by a battalion of the 743rd Regiment of the 719th Division. Their headquarters was encamped in Slotbos Haamstede.
The bunker lies on property of Natuurmonumenten and is not accessible.
