Belgian War Graves Torhout Old Cemetery

The old cemetery of Torhout contains the graves of 11 Belgian soldiers, including one unidentified, who fell at Torhout during the 18 Days’ Campaign of May 1940.
These are the graves of DE ROECK Frans; AVONDTS Leonard; CITTERS Remi; RAYMAECKERS Albert; SCHROYENS Carolus; VAN DE WIELE Jules; VERBANCK Jules; OYEN Frans; COEN Marcel (on the grave is incorrectly the name "OYEN); NYS Frans; VERBANCK Charles.

The old cemetery of Torhout also contains a tombstone in memory of the resistance fighters and political prisoners who lost their lives in the Second World War.
