Internment Camp De Beetse

This camp was build in 1935 to house unemployed laborers. In 1942, it was used for the internment of 400 Jews from Amsterdam, who had to work in the area. In october 1942, all men were brought to Westerbork. In 1944, the camp was used to house forced laborers who later were send to Germany. After the was the camp was used for the imprisomement of NSB- en SS-people.

In 1948, the camp was demolished but one barrack remained. This one is now in a very bad condition. There is now an investigation to find oud what can be remained.
