This memorial, erected in 2006, commemorates the Canadian soldiers which camped in the field and were killed in an air-strike by Messerschmitts in 1940.
It was erected on the basis of the testimony of a local war veteran, Leslie Edwards, who laid poppies here every Remembrance Sunday until his death in 2004. Officially, nothing is known of the event.
