Nørre Havrvig Churchyard contains eight Commonwealth burials of the Second World War, most of them airmen. There is also one First World War burial in the churchyard.
John Allen Dennis Ingram
One of these graves from the Second World War is the grave of the British Sergeant John Allen Dennis Ingram. This is the story of this Sergeant:
At 22.15 on June 26th 1940 from Waddington airbase in England the Hampden MK1 P1329 of the 50 sqn of the Royal Air Force took off with four crewmen on board. Their mission was the strategic bombing of the airport in Hannover (Germany). For an unknown reason one of the engines turned out, this was transmitted to the base. At 3.59 on June 27th 1940 the base received the message Going-down, after this message the plane crashed into the North Sea.
There were no survivors, the pilot Crockart David Norman is buried in the churchyard of Callantsoog in Holland.
The other two crewmembers F / S William Joseph Thomas Southey and Sgt Eric Howard McKenzie Turner were never found, they are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.

Take off from RAF Tempsford on operation Tablejam 181 heading for Danmark with a supply off weapons to dropzone Marie near Hobro. His aircraft, Short Stirling LK149 NF-D (RAF 138Sqn) was lost over the Northsea.

Take off at july 28th at 22:48h from Gransden Lodge in Lancaster JB707 LQ-M (RAF 405 Sqn). The aircraft crashed in the Ringkøbing Fjord killing all crewmembers.
