Commonwealth War Graves Curfoz

At the Municipal Cemetery in Curfoz, Hamlet of Sensenruth, are five Commonwealth war graves from World War II. They were two different crews of the Fairey Battle K9353 and Fairey Battle P2193.

Fairey Battle K9353 departed from airbase Auberive-sur-Suippes in France with the mission to attack German positions near Bouillon. It was over Belgium hit by a Flak anti aircraft gun and crashed in Sensenruth. In the crash, all crew were killed, they are all buried in this cemetery. It was Leading Aircraftman L.D. Davies, Sergeant L.C. Flisher and F/S J.B. Horner.

Fairey Battle K9353 departed at 1630 from Bétheniville airbase in France with the mission to attack German positions near Bouillon. It was over Belgium hit by a Flak anti aircraft gun and crashed in Noirefontaine. In the crash, all crew were killed, they are all buried in this cemetery. It was P/O E.E. Morton and Aircraftman 1st Class A.S. Ross.
