This Halifax bomber (serial number: LL505 "S for Sugar") crashed on 22 November 1944. The 8 crew members (7 Canadian and 1 British) were killed in the crash.
In June 1997 a Chinook helicopter made its way to the crash site with the intention of recovering two engines; one for the museum at RAF Wyton and the other for the Ruskin Museum.
