DURING THE 2nd WORLD WAR IN THE NIGHT OF
2 ON 3 JANUARY 1943 FROM THIS CITY HALL
THE POPULATION REGISTRY WAS STOLEN.
THIS ACT OF DEFIANCE WAS THE FIRST IN A SERIES
OF SIMILAR ACTIONS DURING THE WAR DONE
IN HOLLAND.
IN THIS WAY A LOT OF DUTCH PEOPLE WERE SAVED
FROM THE TYRANNY OF THE OCCUPIER.
