The Historical Route Bastogne is a route around Bastogne with 15 information boards. The text on this sign is:

On December 20, the neighboring village of Sibret falls into the hands of the German troops.

Senonchamps is mainly the artillery: 420th, 755th, 969th; it is a large-caliber (155mm) artillery battle that begins on December 21, 1944. The Kampfgruppe Kunkel, of the 26th Grenadier, coming from Sibret and Villeroux, displaces the Americans, but thanks to the American reinforcements (especially the 796th AAA) the repelled attack.

The next day, the same scenario repeats and the village is once again in the encircled area before it is abandoned by the Americans on December 24. They will not return until January 2.

The villages in the area have sometimes paid a heavy war toll. Of all the houses in Chenogne, only one has survived ...

Isle-la-Hesse Castle served at one point as a tactical headquarters for the 101st Airborne due to the nighttime bombardment of Bastogne.

Are you going in the direction of Marche. You go along the N4 and arrive in Mande-Saint-Étienne. You go under the N4 and through the village towards Champs; there you stop just before the crossroads in the middle of the village.
