Memorial First Special Brigade Amfreville

This memorial has been erected in memory of the soldiers from the First Special Brigade who died in the Normandy Campaign. Next to the memorial are 2 memorial markers with following text:
HOMMAGE AUX MORTS
THIS MEMORIAL HONOURS THE BRITISH
AND FRENCH COMMANDOS WHO LANDED
FROM THE SEA ON THE MORNING OF D-DAY
6TH JUNE 1944, AND FOUGHT THEIR WAY INLAND
TO JOIN 6TH AIRBORNE DIVISION. TOGETHER
THEY HELD THE EASTERN FLANK SECURE
AGAINST ALL ENEMY ATTACKS THROUGHOUT
THE NORMANDY CAMPAIGN
