Memorial 36th Fighter Group

This memorial lies a few kilometres behind Utah Beach, at a location which was a base for fighter planes.

The text on the memorial reads:
The 36th Fighter Group of Ninth USA Air force flew from this advanced landing ground A16 built by the 843rd Air Engineers Battalion
05-08 to 27-08-1944
In respectful memory of those who gave their lives for liberty
