Infantry Strongpoint Rhijnauwen

This is an original and one of the very few remaining group nest as in 1939 and 1940 many were built. Recently, the vegetation removed so that it became visible.

A strongpoint is a loose piece of trench which was completely surrounded by rows of barbed wire. It was often combined with a group shelter. The normal occupancy of a strongpoint was 11 soldiers.
