Liberation Memorial (T-34/76 Tank) Gdansk

On 27 March 1945, this tank entered as first Allied tank the occupated city of Gdansk. Its Polish tank commander, Lieutenant Julian Miazga was hit and wounded by a German sniper shotly after the city. Today, this tank is standing along the Aleja Zwycięstwa as memorial to the liberation of Gdansk. The 1st Polish Armoured Brigade was involved in the liberation.
