Small Museum the Veerse Gat

Transformed from a temporary farm into a museum.

To disperse the German occupiers in 1944 from Walcheren, a plan was made to set Walcheren under water by bombing the dikes.
Residents had to flee for the bombing and the rising water. Their original farms were largely destroyed by these actions and the government offered the people a temporary small farm for living.
Nowadays, a few of these farms still exists. One of these farms in transformed into a small museum. It has been restored and original furnishing is used from the period 1946 - 1954.

For current visiting hours, please contact the museum.
