Memorial Tegelen

The Memorial "I Will Maintain" in Tegelen, Municipal Venlo, is in memory to more than twenty soldiers from Tegelen who were killed in the fight against the German invasion in the Second World War.
The monument was unveiled in November 1940. Presumably this is the first war memorial in the Netherlands, which is placed when the Netherlands was occupied by the Germans.

The memorial was expanded in 2022 with three steel panels bearing the names of the other victims of the Second World War in Tegelen and the battle with Japan. It also contains the names of the soldiers who died in the former Dutch East Indies.
