Memorial Sergeant Raymond F. Gargenes

This Memorial in Gronsveld, Municipal Eijsden, is dedicated to the American Sergeant Raymond F. Gargenes who died in this place on 13 September 1944 in the fight against the German occupiers.
Sergeant Raymond F. Gargenes was with the U.S. 30th Infantry Division. The monument was placed on the spot where he was killed and where in 1944 the 117th Infantry Regiment Old Hickory from the east and the 113th Red Horse cavalry group from the south, met.
