This small brass plaque (Denkstein) commemorates:
* Frieda Fürstenheim, 5 May 1878, on 13 June 1942 deported to Sobibor and murdered there.
Frieda Gertrud Fürstenheim was born in Berlin. Both of her parents came from German-Jewish families which had converted to Christianity. Frieda became a French teacher at the "Familienschule" at Oranienburger Straße 20, a school for non-Christian children of Christian faith. She and her sister Erna Fürstenheim, a piano teacher, were both deported on 13 June 1942 to Sobibor and murdered there on the 15th. A Stolperstein at Rhumeweg 23 in Berlin-Zehlendorf commemorates Erna Fürstenheim.
Frieda Fürstenheim was one of 11 staff of Father Grüber. Denksteine were placed for each of them at the request of the Protestant Relief Agency in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. These memorials are not part of Gunter Demnig's Stolpersteine art project: the requested text did not fit with his project vision, and he suggested alternative but similar memorial plaques, which became "Denksteine" (Memorial Stones).
