Hennef German war cemetery (Kriegsgräberstätte) contains 209 German and 17 Russian graves. There is also one Polish grave.
Most of them were killed in de fights in 1945. The Russian and Polish burials are forced labourers.
In block A, grave no. 53, Generalmajor Richard von Bothmer is buried. He was the commander of Bonn and refused, in despite of a direct order, to defend the city to the last bullet. Therefore he saved many lives. He committed suicide when he was convicted by a military court.
