Memorial Theodor Burckhardt
From 1931 to 1945 Theodor Burckhardt lived and worked with his wife Bolette and their nine children here in the Evangelical Church Community "Zum Heilsbronnen". Despite being watched by the Gestapo, they have repeatedly risked their lives to give Jews temporary shelter.
Two of these Jews were the couple Max and Karoline Krakauer, who lived here temporarily in 1943. With this help and the help of other church communities they survived the Holocaust.
