These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) at the Ricarda-Huch-Schule commemorate:
Margot Adler (born 1921, murdered in het Oosten)
Beta Hildegard Goldschmidt (born 1927)
Ellen Jeanette Jacob (born 1925)
Hilde Kann (born 1923, murdered in Auschwitz)
Gertrud Berta Katz (born 1922)
Marianne Margot Rosenbaum (born 1922, murdered in Treblinka)
Beate Rubin (born 1922, murdered in Auschwitz)
Margot Mirjam Salomon (born 1922, murdered in Auschwitz)
Sonja Sophie Salomon (born 1926, murdered in Auschwitz)
The small copper plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were murdered by the National-Socialists, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.
In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
