Located near to the County Mall shopping centre in Crawley is a small pocket of peace and quiet, Memorial Park. The park is a popular spot for lunch breaks and was first established in the town in 1921. That year the community raised the funds necessary to landscape an area of land as a memorial to those who lost their lives in the First World War. The names of the dead of both World Wars are listed on the epitaph gates at the top end of the park.
