These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:

Walter Ernst Heimbach (born 1923, murdered in Chelmno in 1944)
Berta Heumann (born 1878, murdered in Chelmno in May 1942)
Eduard Kaufmann (born 1886, murdered in Lodz on 17-9-1942)
Johanna Nathan (born 1879, murdered in Chelmno in May 1942)
Siegmund Nathan (born 1882, murdered in Chelmno in May 1942)
Alfred Sanders (born 1937, murdered in Lodz)
Edith Sanders (born 1938, murdered in Chelmno in September 1942)
F.T. Eberhard Sanders (born 1905, murdered in Lodz 13-10-1942)
Johanna Sanders (born 1902, murdered in Chelmno in 1944)
Albert Schönfeld (born 1899, faith unknown)
Amely Schönfeld (born 1927, faith unknown)
Hedwig Schönfeld (born 1899, faith unknown)
Kurt Schönfeld (born 1923, faith unknown)
Rotel Silberblatt (born 1887, murdered in Chelmno in May 1942)

The small copper plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
