An Allied bomber wants to bomb the railway between Amersfoort and Zwolle, but a house is hit instead. Julianalaan 74 is the home of the Hooyenga family and is close to the railway line, the family offers shelter to the Bolte family, evacuees from Renkum. The Allied mistake cost the lives of nine people. Since 2005, a monument has stood on the spot where the house once stood, to commemorate the victims. The plaque contains the names of the people who died:

- Johannes Wilhelmus Bolte, born in Elst on 01-11-1897
- Metje Bolte-Gidding, born in Valburg on 22-05-1909
- Frederik Willem Bolte, born in Renkum on 12-04-1930
- Arend Johannes Bolte, born in Renkum on 12-12-1932
- Johannes Wilhelmus Bolte, born in Renkum on 04-04-1935|
- Fokje Anne Bolte, born in Renkum on 14-05-1942
- Geertruida Johanna Klaassen, born in Ermelo on 05-01-1929
- Wouter Haverkamp, born in Putten on 12-02-1914;
The Bolte family had fled from Renkum for the war and evacuated in Ermelo with the Hooijenga family, Julianalaan 74, Ermelo.
In 2022, the monument has been renovated by The Vanneau Foundation.
