Stumbling Stones Lochnerstraße 12-14

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Anna Katz (born 1899 deported to Lodz in 1941 then faith unknown)
Hella Katz (born 1929, deported to Lodz in 1941 then faith unknown)
Ilse Moses (born 1929, deported to Lodz in 1941 then faith unknown)
Max Wolff (born 1900, escaped to holland captured in camp Vught, Amersfoort and in Westerbork liberated)
Anna Wolff (born 1894, escaped to holland captured in camp Vught and Westerbork then deported to Sobibor, murdered 11 juni 1943)
Lina Silberbach (born 1874, deported to Lodz in 1941 and murdered)
Ariel Wolff (born 1935, escaped to holland captured in camp Vught and Westerbork then deported to Sobibor, murdered 11 juni 1943)
Kurt Jakob Silberbach (born 1898, muredered 28 april 1941)
Erich Moses Silberbach (born 1902, escaped to Palestina)

The small copper plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
