Ouvrage Welschhof (part of the Maginot line) consists of 3 blocks.
From 1939 to 1940 the ouvrage was manned by 160 men of the 166e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne under the command of Captain Lhuisset. On the morning of June 22, 1940, the German 462nd Infantry Division started by small guns shelling Ouvrage Welschhof. The Germans also brought 2 150mm guns to the ouvrage to fire on them. A total of 111 150mm grenades were fired at the ouvrage. On the morning of June 24, Captain Lhuisset and his garrison decided to capitulate at 10 a.m.

Nowadays Ouvrage Welschof is deserted. A serious accident occurred in August 2021, leaving two seriously injured. They fell 20m into the elevator shaft.
