These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:

Edgar Elstein (born 1900, murdered in Auschwitz on 20-1-1945)
Emma Elstein (born 1869, faith unknown)
Edith Hurwitz (born 1901, murdered in Minsk)
Hilda Löwenthal (born 1895, murdered in Minsk)
Joel Löwenthal (born 1939, murdered in Minsk)
Ruth Löwenthal (born 1920, murdered in Minsk)
Albert Rosenthal (born 1882, murdered in Minsk)
Ida Rosenthal (born 1875, murdered in Minsk)
Bettina Schartenberg (born 1913, faith unknown)
Jacob Schartenberg (born 1908, faith unknown)
Jenny Wolff (born 1898, faith unknown)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
