Stumbling Stones Dorfstraße 21

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Moritz Neter (born 1899, murdered in Auschwitz on 28-2-1942)
Josefine Beem (born 1901, murdered in Sobibor in 1943)
Henriette Heymann (born 1906, murdered in Stutthof in 1943)
Isidor Heymann (born 1905, murdered in Lager Landsberg/Lech on 24-10-1944)
Hedwig Neter (born 1906, murdered in Riga in 1943)
Zilla Neter (born 1939, murdered in Riga in december 1943)
Semi Neter (born 1942, murdered in Riga in december 1943)
Jeanette Kösters (born 1870, murdered in 1941)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
