Memorial Major Alexei Karabonowa
This memorial commemorates Captain Alexei Karabonowa, commander of the 3rd Tank Battalion (44th Tank Brigade) who was killed, during the fighting for the Ostwall, by a German sniper on 30 January 1945. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of Major.
