Stumbling Stones Adenauerstraße 60

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Arthur Ludwig Ikenberg (born 1940, murdered in Auschwitz on 10-9-1943)
Carola Regina Ikenberg (born 1942, murdered in Auschwitz on 10-9-1943)
Frieda Ikenberg (born 1906, murdered in Auschwitz on 10-9-1943)
Herbert Ikenberg (born 1905, murdered in Auschwitz on 31-3-1944)
Josef Ikenberg (born 1904, murdered in Salaspils)
Klara Ikenberg (born 1906, murdered in Auschwitz)
Kurt Herbert Ikenberg (born 1941, murdered in Auschwitz)
Ludwig Ikenberg (born 1907, murdered in Auschwitz)
Minna Ikenberg (born 1882, murdered in Riga on 6-1-1942)
Thekla Rose (born 1887, murdered in Riga)
Walter Ikenberg (born 1909, murdered in Salaspils)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
