These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:

Ernst Frenkel (born 1906, murdered in Warschau)
Helga Frenkel (born 1925, murdered in Auschwitz)
Herta Frenkel (born 1901, murdered in Auschwitz)
Laura Frenkel (born 1867)
Ludwig Frenkel (born 1934)
Ruth Frenkel (born 1902)
Walter Frenkel (born 1897)
Uriel Frenkel (born 1941)
Mary Garty (born 1901)
Johanna Heinemann (born 1905)
Hannchen Humberg (born 1866, murdered in Theresienstadt on 25-8-1942)
Hermann Klaremeier (born 1860)
Theodor Rosenberg (born 1872)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
