Pillbox No. 135 on Der Buhlert

This pillbox, No. 135, is located 50 meters behind pillbox No. 131 when you’re coming from the track. The type is Regelbau 23. 458 built on the Siegfried line, 205 in Nordrhein-Westfalen; each with 1 room, for 5 men.

All these bunkers were built as part of the Limes programme of 1938. In late 1944 and early 1945 they were manned by the remnants of the 272 Volks-Grenadierdivision. On 5 February 1945 they were finally taken by the 78 US Infantry Division.

They are closed to the public from 01 October to 31 March to allow bat colonies to flourish, so plan your visit for summer!

Best way to get there is to park at this parking lot and walk from there.

nb. Several bunkers and bunker remains have been cleared in this area due to the installation of wind turbines. It is therefore not certain that this bunker is still present.
