German War Graves Ahrdorf

Ahrdorf Churchyard contains a mass grave with 15 victims om a bombardment on the Railway on 11-9-1944. On this day the village lost this one tenth of the population.

There are 14 names on the tombstone: the parents of the 16-year-old Heribert Wirtz did not want his name on the tombstone. They were bitter because he was their third and last remaining son who died in World War II.
