These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Frieda Dannenberg (born 1874, murdered in Minsk)
Hanna Aghitstein (born 1871, murdered in Minsk)
Elsa Hamburger (born 1917, murdered in Minsk)
Herbert Hamburger (born 1916, murdered in Minsk)
Hannchen Liepmann (born 1883, murdered in Riga)
Henriette Liepmann (born 1872, murdered in Riga)
Johanna Löwe (born 1872, murdered in Riga)
Karl Schack (born 1868, murdered in Riga)
Minna Schack (born 1878, murdered in Riga)
Sophie Vogel (born 1916, murdered in Minsk)
Sara Vogel (born 1885, murdered in Minsk)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
