Stumbling Stones Königstraße 23

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Amalie Brill (born 1896, murdered in Zamosc)
Helga Brill (born 1935, murdered in Zamosc)
Hulda Marburger (born 1895, murdered in Zamosc)
Inge Brill (born 1890, murdered in Zamosc)
Julius Brill (born 1894, murdered in Zamosc)
Leopold Marburger (born 1883, murdered in Zamosc)
Lieselotte Brill (born 1937, murdered in Zamosc)
Lothar Brill (born 1932, murdered in Zamosc)
Manfred Marburger (born 1922, murdered in Zamosc)
Norbert Brill (born 1931, murdered in Zamosc)
Sara Brill (born 1939, murdered in Zamosc)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
