German War Graves Waldfriedhof

Just outside the centre of Aachen lies the "Waldfriedhof". Here soldiers of the German Army from the First and Second World War.

In addition to the uniform headstones for the fallen soldiers, there are also personal headstones for soldiers, erected by family members. These stand among the uniform crosses.

Aachen Waldfriedhof (Forest Cemetery) also contains two plots with the victims of the bombardments on Aachen on 14 July 1943 and 11 April 1944.

Victims 14 July 1943: Hundreds of people.

Victims 11 April 1944: 1.525 people, including 212 children.
