Stumbling Stones Woldsenweg 5

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Ella Davidsohn (born 1872, murdered in Theresienstadt on 9-3-1943)
Walter Davidsohn (born 1895, murdered in Auschwitz)
Dr. Marie Anna Jonas (born 1893, murdered in Theresienstadt on 12-10-1944)
Dr. Alberto Jonas (born 1889, murdered in Theresienstadt on 29-8-1942)
Marie Therese Moser (born 1884, murdered in Chelmno in 1942)
Cloe Neuburger (born 1885, faith unknown)
Fritz Neuburger (born 1876, faith unknown)
Ruth Neuhaus (born 1918, faith unknown)
Georg Peters (born 1872, murdered in Weilmünster on 6-4-1944)
Bernard Moser (born 1882, murdered in Lodz on 8-7-1942)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
