Pamart Casemate Souville (A)

In 1916, Captain Pamart came up with the design of a machine gun emplacement that was easy to build. Typical of the metal armor part is the shape that resembles the snout of an elephant. The Pamart casemate is armed with two machine guns and has one or two embrasures. They were designed to increase the firepower of a fortress. The whole is connected underground to a fortress. 47 were built and a total of 34 units were installed. The remaining examples were used in the Maginot Line.
