The name Minty Farm most likely comes from an unit of Wiltshire, which named the fortified farm that lay near this site.
This fortified farm had been used as a strongpoint by the Germans and after its capture by the English during the Third Battle of Ypres by the 51st Highland Division, the fortification was used as a headquarters by the English from 31 July onwards.
This cemetery was in use from October 1917 to April 1918 by units stationed here on the front line.
There are 192 soldiers buried of which 6 are unknown. There are also 7 dead who are part of the Royal Navy. A large part of the casualties here are from artillery units.
