Commonwealth War Cemetery Sanctuary Wood

Sanctuary Wood Cemetery contains 1989 Commonwealth war graves from World War I. Of these, 1353 are unidentified.

Talbot House in Poperinge takes its name from Lieutenant Gilbert Walter Lyttelton Talbot, brother of Neville Talbot, one of the founders of Talbot House. He was the son of the Anglican bishop of Winchester and died at the age of 23 in the Ypres area.

Lieutenant Talbot is buried here at Sanctuary Wood Cemetery (I. G. 1.).
