This cemetery was named after a small road that run in this area. This cemetery was used between July 1917 and March by the unites that were stationed in this area. Most of the dead are from 12th, 13th and 14th Royal Sussex as well as from the Royal Artillery.
After the end of the war also some other victims were brought from other locations to be buried here. In total there are 289 soldiers buried here of which 86 are unknown and on the left side of the entrance are some special memorials for the ones were the graves were destroyed during the fighting.
