Memorial for the 486th Bombardment Group (H)

The text on the memorial is:

486th Bombardment Group (H)
The 486th flew 191 combat missions over Nazi held Europe from May 1944 to July 1945. This memorial was dedicated by survivors of the 486th and the town of Sudbury in honour of those who served and the 400 airmen who died in the cause of freedom.

Dedicated 4th July 1987

RAF Sudbury was also known as USAAF Station 174.
