Stumbling Stones Grindelhof 89 Haus Nr. 7

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Egon Feldmann (born 1909, murdered in Mauthausen on 16-12-1941)
John Feldmann (born 1883, murdered in Auschwitz)
Rebecka Feldmann (born 1885, murdered in Auschwitz)
Leonie Hartogsohn (born 1913, murdered in Auschwitz)
Kurt Jacob Hartogsohn (born 1913, murdered in Mauthausen on 16-1-1942)
Jenny Moczydlower (born 1914, murdered in Auschwitz)
Salomon Moczydlower (born 1910, murdered in Auschwitz on 18-10-1942)
Ronald Leonhard Moczydlower (born 1938, murdered in Auschwitz)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
