Monument Lancaster ME 581

This Lancaster was returning from a mission to Düsseldorf during the night of 22 and 23 April 1944. It was shot down by a night-fighter.

The crew were:
- F/O B.B. Ashley
- P/O N.W.E. Burdett
- F/O S.M. Clarke
- Sgt. S.W. Courtenay
- F/O D.W. Magan
- F/O P.G. Milburn
- Sgt. J. Palrey

They are buried at Heverlee War Cemetery
