Zehrensdorf Indian Cemetery contains 206 Commonwealth war graves from World War I.
These victims from India were captured around Ypres (Belgium) and ended up in the local POW camp Halbmond. After 1945 this burial ground was dishonoured and neglected.
In 1994 the Russians left this place and from 2002 the city of Zossen and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission started restoring the cemetery to its original form.
The traces of vandalism are still clearly visible on the restored monuments.
