Trenches on the Marmolada

The Marmolada, the Queen of the Dolomites, is the highest mountain of the Dolomites and has multiple peaks but the highest is the Punta Penia (3.342) and during the war it was in possession of the Austrians.
The Marmolada has a glacier and the Austrians had built a whole city in the glacier.

The Italian trenches are reached by a cable car from Malga Ciapela and the Austrian trenches via a cable car from Lake Fedaia where there is also a museum about the war on the Marmolada.
The city in the glacier is not execibel.
